I love Vérité Vintage. Some seriously cool vintage finds from the friendliest of folk.
I simply love the selection, sparklery 70s tops, pretty orange camis and an effing necklace! What more do you want?
I recently won this pretty silver locket from Vérité Vintage’s facebook page! Make sure you add her to your friends/fan pages for updates and latest looks!
I’ve chosen this dress for the September Must Have as it reminds me of late summer senoritas, the cool late summer nights that still have that sweet smell in the air of al fresco eating and holiday romances…
Pretty pleated skirt, would look amazing teamed with black patent Mary Janes…
Vintage fashion is so much fun and can be more creative than buying from the high street – I want to encourage playful dressing up as seen at my recent dressing up parties that really helped the ladies to see what colours and styles really worked for them.
I noticed when talking with customers who are new to vintage buying, there is some betwixting of how to style pieces. Vintage clothing can be a riot of wonderful colours and cuts – that’s what makes them stand out as vintage, but to a new burgeoning group of gals who are looking for some individuality in their wardrobe, not wanting to wear the same old brands from high street it can sometimes be a tricky look to pull off.
With this in mind I have created a new department in the shop – Get the Look – where I have done the styling for you! You can buy the total look and this way actually saves you money too!
I love blending old with new to get a great personalised look, and encourage buying top end quality designers rather than supermarket brands, with my Guest Designers, Suzywan, Ollie&Agnes who hand make current accessories – they team with the clothing to finish off the look perfectly.
If you would like some creative ideas, looking for a great outfit for a specific event or just want to chat fashion – Get in touch would love to hear from you!
I recall my 2nd year of University French exchange trip took me to a Parisian apartment up many swirling flights of stairs where during my stay I read Alice in Wonderland in french… I laugh now as I too was lost in a strange land… I came across a rabbit… I saw it left abandoned on a little low brick wall outsidethe Cergy-Pontoise University, picked it up – much to the horror of exchange partner who tried to dissuade me from taking “Nou-nours” right there and then, I decided after the tour of the university I if he was still there I could rightfully claim him. What Joy when I saw he still there! I survived that time mainly on peppered olives from the local and fabulous Marcadet Poissonniers market and cheap European version of orange fanta… visiting the endless galleries, museums and shows… what sights for my eyes… Paris J’adore – its my own special wonderland…
The Mary Quant ethos was that fashion should exist for everyone, not just for the privileged few… Opening first store, Bazaar in London in 1955 it was an instant hit! After experimental designs and a second store, Quant was exporting to the U.S. Working with young model Twiggy creating the fashion storm that was the “mod” look. Her mix and match looks of stockings, accessories, coats and boots really earnt her title as The designer of the mid sixties. Known of course mainly for the mini-skirt (the namesake of her favourite car) Mary Quant reflected the time, the women and shaped the decade with her creations… Quant, queen of inspiration…
