Ugh.. b e a u t i f u l….
Have been thinking back to my days with dolls lately and growing up and how that love for a new look, dress or style never fades or fails to excite me! Thought I’d share my new favourite site. Oh so cute cut out paper dolls in that sickly sweet I can’t look straight at them kinda way… If I was to indulge my greatest pleasure it would be to buy her entire stock and just look at them all, paste my walls with them and forever mix and match the outfits… Oh well back to the day job!

Gone a little Crazed for Graze.com
Thursday, November 19th, 2009
What a day! My first Graze box arrived and I greedily started to tuck into all the natural tasty goodness…
Oops – had wanted to take some shots of the box before I started unwrapping it all – was like Christmas day come early! Heh heh.
It’s just ideal for me, sitting at my desk wondering whether I should have that extra biscuit (damn those biscuits, I’m such a nibbler too)… I was so delighted to hear about Graze - it’s a lovely thing being surprised each time with a box of all your favourite treats delivered right to your door or workplace. I’m so in love with this!
Hurrah no more bored of what to eat, Graze have created guilt-free tailor made snack-a-thons, that will help me maintain my concentration throughout the day ~ ya know ~ just grazing…
In today’s box I got:
Korean Chilli Rice Crackers (simply gorgeous)
Pitted Kalamata & Amphissa Olives with Chilli, Garlic & Black Pepper (mmm my fave)
Hot Chilli Almonds (didn’t think I’d like them especially but found them very moreish, will be wanting more of those please)
Milk Chocolate Coated Peanuts (err? YEAH!)
The site is super easy to use and you can bookmark your favourite treats to be sent more frequently, I think I spent far too long of my working day ogling things like the savoury snacks, fresh and dried fruit, nuts and seeds and natural treats!
Plus I hear on the grapevine (see what I did there?) they are hoping to launch graze lunches soon, which will include a fresh fruit punnet and a lunch punnet (like a Tuscan Bean Salad) Yum yum yum.
What I find the most benefical of this idea is that it really will maintain my interest, its hassle-free and perfectly portioned. I was left feeling satisfied and wonderfully content, no large bag of nuts I continually chew through unaware… graze has done the thinking for me and gave me just the right amount of everything.
I was so impressed already ordered some gift vouchers for Christmas. You will be too!! (Gawd you’d think they’d of paid me to write this, but I just think it’s so fantastic and knew you’d want to know)
Paper, packaging recyclable/biodegradable, each box tailor made, nutritionally balanced, you can specify if you are looking to boost energy, balance blood sugar, sort out your immune system or lose weight… ya know? Absolutely everything a girl like me could ever wish for!!!

Dispelling a myth…

Erm, Errr… yes EXCUSE ME… who started the rumor that it’s only men who get better with age?! Hmm?
Ok I know this ‘idea’ has been around for a bit… ok decades… but in the grand scheme of things thats not so long and about time we took a look at that and changed our ideas…
Start believeing ladies! I know I have.
Having stepped one year into my thirties, ya know it aint so bad. It feels like we are told to stay eternally young, but I kind of like this sexier wiser older me. Yes I’m older than I was…o l d e r… seems odd to think that I might’ve stayed forever young but it is a belief that your sort of “hold” on to…
Whether your in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s -know that you are beautiful just as you are.
A new belief I’m living is to be the best me possible at anyone time, feeling attractive is such a lovely connecting feeling with your body and there are plenty of easy ways to get yourself feeling great, be it wearing some fabulous new underwear, give YOURSELF a compliment – why wait?, accept compliments when they are given, shake out your hair and walk with your head up high – you’re looking great girl!!
Lets get this new rumor started!

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009WI & I…
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009
Now its not something I usually do on a 2nd Tuesday of every month, but tonight I had a glass of white wine with my tea before embarking on my very first WI meeting in the local village (ever so slightly tipsy)
Not 3 ft into the room and I had been taken for 60p on the treacle toffee, then quick as a flash on another table another 50p gone…
Right shall we have tea first?.. Me, not being backwards in coming forwards chimned in with the majority who opted for “first please” Next out came the scones (homemade of course) I kid you not… It was like everything I knew it would be and more – a wonderful group of forthright ladies with large tote bags and plenty of knowledge to willingly share with their newly joined member!
First up was the guest speaker talking of her travels to Australia and the wonderfully in sync escapades she got up to. “There were no mobile phones of course and we had plenty of Oz to see, couldn’t remember where we had booked for this one night”
Cue a few old veterans on the first row, whispering loudly to her friend “Well, I would’ve written it down, wouldn’t you?”
After she had spoken and past around her pictures of Australia the meeting continued with the AGM.
The Lady Chair started asking her fellow board members and Secretary if there is anything she needs to bring up and before anyone else can speak she quips in herself with a “Oh I do”…leaving Secretary closes jaw closely… and makes a sort of squinty smile face.
As they discuss their recent Christmas dinner at a nearby restaurant, Chair thanks her helpers muttering a sort of backhanded comment about the Table place names – “I suggested something different but you went with your idea anyway…” Smiles. (I’m likeing this lady more and more)
Bring on the Christmas meet – everyone is to bring a bowl, a small secret Santa gift and as part of the competition a table decoration!
Stayed tuned for the next installment!
How to: Easy 30min Stack-Up’n’ Sewn Cards
Monday, November 9th, 2009
Here is my first “How To” and I’m starting off easy!
This little project has bags of room to play with colour and shape and is perfect for kids!
Time needed: less than 1/2 hour
You’ll need:
Scissors
Needle & Thread
Old Buttons
Scraps different coloured & types of fabric
Old card, magazines
1. Cut out circles of fabric. You can also do a simple flower shape, stars or hearts too.
Stack them on top of each other, using the different materials to make the pattern you want.

2. Simple stitches to bind a few layers together with a contrasting thread.

3. Using a sharp needle, sew a button in the middle of each stack to secure.

4. Find some images you would like to use as a backdrop and cut out. Tip! the simpler the backdrop the better. You can then fix the magazines cuttings to some card, either recycled from cereal box or bought from craft store.

5. Arrange your flower stacks on the card. This is a nice bit.

6. Then “ta-daaa” You’re done! Well done ![]()

Hope you liked what you made – let me know, post a comment on how yours turned out!
These make great little gift tags for Christmas! Try making some out of paper and sticking the layers together too!
Aubrey Beardsley, Fashion, Art & Swirls…
Friday, November 6th, 2009
When I first acquired this dress, I could see it was a work of art. It wasn’t until the other day that I clicked on which artist it reminded me of … then it came to me! Aubrey Beardsley. I was shocked to find out he was English, had a notion that he was french, such a decorative fine style for the age. Very theatrical man and quite the eccentric!
Beardsley it is said was meticulous about his attire: dove-grey suits, hats, ties; yellow gloves. He would appear at his publisher’s in a morning coat and patent leather pumps.
Dress available now at extinct design vintage.
